NHS: RCNi Journals

The RCNi Journals cover most specialisms in nursing, focusing on practical application, clinical innovation and the latest research. RCNi is a part of the Royal College of Nursing Group

Each journal contains:

• Coverage of key issues and developments affecting nursing practice
• Peer-reviewed clinical and research articles
• Policy updates and latest practice guidelines  
• News of the latest developments in treatments

Access RCNi journals by following the links below (note that you need to be signed in to your OpenAthens* account for full access).

*NHS OpenAthens is the single username and password for nearly all the online library resources purchased for NHS staff. To register, and for more information, see our online guide

Alternatively, follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your OpenAthens account
2. Go to 'My Resources' and click on the ‘RCNi’ link, which will take you to the RCNi website.
3. Select the journal you wish to access from the Quick Links menu
4. Browse the journal, or use the search box.
5. Once you've found an article, click the 'Download PDF' button if you would like to save a copy for offline reading.
