Oxford Reading Lists Online (ORLO): ! Leganto !

If you are creating a new list before Trinity Term 2024, please bear the following in mind in order to minimise issues during the data migration process:

• Use fewer or no sub-sections for clarity
• Citations must be inside a section; citations outwith a section can migrate erratically.
• Use importances to indicate Essential/Recommended/Further readings.

Leganto Training for List Owners/Creators

The first set of these sessions will be held via Teams, with bookings managed through Bodleian iSkills. These training sessions will introduce attendees to the new platform and enable them to edit their current lists and set up new lists in ORLO. It is primarily intended for staff who already have an ORLO role, but staff needing to get started on ORLO are also welcome.

In-person sessions

In-person training sessions will be held 23rd-27th September (-1st week); 10am-11.30am & 3pm-4.30pm. Booking for these will be released nearer the time.

ORLO – Library Staff Training for Leganto

All the information needed for library staff to begin using Leganto to edit and create lists after data migration from the current system (w/c 15th April). Please note, this will not cover library reviews – the ORLO team will be in touch with the relevant staff for these separately.

The ORLO team demonstrated our new reading list system in both ‘List Owner’ and ‘Student’ views.
This event is intended for: Academics, Administrators and Library Staff who use ORLO to support their students and are interested in viewing the new Leganto interface. It is not intended for students who access lists, and it will not demonstrate library review processes, which will be covered in later training. 
 

1. [Optional] Prepare your list for migration by un-nesting sections, adding importances (See: Pre-Leganto List preparation, left)
2. Ensure all changes are PUBLISHED by 14th April 2024. Unpublished changes will not migrate. List editing permissions will be suspended on Monday 15th April.
3. Make sure you've exported any bookmarks you wish to keep; to retain personal notes you will need to export your list. For instructions on both processes, please see the box below.
4. If you have a list for which access is needed sooner than the student go-live date (e.g. for summer examinations) contact orlo@bodleian.ox.ac.uk to discuss options.
5. Book onto a training course - full details and booking links will be released soon.

The ORLO team will allocate you permissions on Leganto at the point of migration based on your permissions in the current system.

Personal data such as students' personal notes and list owners' bookmarks cannot be exported en masse. Please see the following guides to assist with exporting your data:
