The PCA was established by the Convention for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes, concluded at The Hague in 1899 during the first Hague Peace Conference.

A Guide to the PCA Arbitration Rules (2012) by WIPO Center in Geneva (branch in Singapore) offers various forms of ADR for diputes involving intellectual property rights. As well as arbitration it has special procedures for mediation, expert determination and Domain Name Dispute Resolution.
