Purpose of this guide

This guide is intended for students and researchers studying the law and legal systems and traditions of Russia, and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Georgia  and Turkmenistan at the University of Oxford, although students and researchers from any field may find it useful.

Use this guide to find out about sources and commentary for these jurisdictions including ebooks, ejournals, and databases.

The Law Bod has small collections for these individual jurisdictions on Level 1. Also books dealing with the former USSR. Level 1 is one floor below the level at which you enter the library.

The LawBod shelves surveys of law (works looking at how a legal problem/legal topic is dealt with by various jurisdictions/legal systems) and comparative studies in the collection with the shelfmark General 510. This is on Level 2, the entrance level to the library.
