Latin American History: Ebooks and new acquisitions

An introductory guide to sources for Latin American history.

Bodleian books

New titles on many aspects of Latin American history and the Spanish and Portuguese empires are being received in the Bodleian each month. The majority will go straight into the bookstack and will need to be requested online. A selection of the newest key titles will be kept in the Gladstone Link on open shelves. Use SOLO to search for relevant titles, and browse the lists of new titles for monthly updates.

Ebooks via SOLO

Oxford is actively increasing its ebook collections in all areas of study, and there are already over 600 ebooks in SOLO relating to Latin American topics. Fields covered include history, politics, economics, cultural studies, and social sciences. When searching on SOLO you can use the drop down box to the right of the search bar to select 'Online Resources' only.

New books on Latin American history

Interested in new books being purchased for the Bodleian on Latin American topics? You can browse new acquisitions purchased for the Latin American Centre Library (both History and Social Sciences) on its LibraryThing pages (link below). Remember that many more books are also bought for the Bodleian Closed Stack collection (and can be requested to reading rooms in Oxford) or received via legal deposit, so the list is not comprehensive. Please feel free to make suggestions for new purchases to frank.egerton@bodleian.ox.ac.uk.
