Purpose of this guide

This guide is intended for students and researchers studying Tibetan literature, history, culture, and Tibetan Buddhism at the University of Oxford.

Finding books for Tibetan & Himalayan Studies

Oxford has a wide range of printed books, xylograph prints and manuscripts for Tibetan Studies.

Since 2011 the Bodleian Library Tibetan Collection has been part of the Library of Congress cooperative buying programme (SACAP) for acquiring books in Tibetan language from China, India, Nepal, Bhutan.
