The Library is located on the ground floor, with mainly level access (there are two single steps for which ramps are provided). There is an accessible toilet in the Library. Please refer to the University of Oxford Access Guide for more details.
The Library staff are happy to help in any way possible to assist Readers to visit the Library, or, in cases in which that is not possible, to supply copies of the material required. Readers with accessibility needs who wish to visit the Library are asked to contact the Library staff in advance so that any necessary assistance can be provided on their arrival.

All materials in the library are reference only.
The Law collection in the Anson Room is on open shelves. Readers may take material in the Anson Room off the shelves without the assistance of the Library Staff but they may not remove it from the Library.
All other books are kept in closed stacks and Readers must request them. The requests can be placed online in advance or in person when in the Library. Once filled out, the form should be handed to a librarian who will usually be able to fetch the book immediately.
All books should be returned to the Library Office before you leave the Library. Please let the Library Staff know whether you have finished with a book and it can be re-shelved, or whether you would like it kept on reserve for you. Note that reserved books will be re-shelved after two weeks if readers have not returned to use them.
A prior appointment is required to consult early printed books or other special collections materials; please email the Library at least a week in advance.
Please note that Readers may not take photographs in the Library (including selfies). It is not possible to do this without causing disturbance or disruption to those working in the Library, and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to study is our primary aim.
