Our online catalogue enables you to find names of artists in two ways:
Search. Set scrollbar to Name. You can combine this with Keyword, Genre, Title, Subject, Place, Shelfmark, etc.
Browse. This is better, because it enables you to see any variant forms of the name. We have provide diphs [artist] and [engraver/lithographer] to enable you to find relevant people in the names index.
Please note that the default record in our catalogue is in display form. For the full (tagged) record, click on "Change display". The allegro format enables users to understand the field numbers.
The boxes relating to Artists (mostly illustrators and commercial artists) form an additional resource. They have not been catalogued and therefore will not appear in the Names index.
