The Bodleian Social Science Library (SSL) exists to support staff and students in the University of Oxford Social Sciences Division, particularly in the departments of: Economics, International Development, Politics & International Relations, Sociology, Geography, and Social Policy & Intervention; in the Centres for: Criminology, Refugee Studies, Russian & East European Studies, and Socio-Legal Studies; and in the Blavatnik School of Government. The SSL also provides increasing support for African Studies, Modern Asian Studies and Anthropology.

All holders of valid Bodleian reader cards are eligible to use the Bodleian Social Science Library. However, only current students and staff of the University may borrow books.
Non-holders of Bodleian reader cards may be admitted on a Day Pass on presentation of identification from their home institution. A maximum of 3 Day Passes may be issued per person. If you wish to use the library for a longer period you will need to apply to the Bodleian Libraries Admissions office to see if you are eligible for a Bodleian readers card.
