HathiTrust is a not-for-profit collaboration of academic and research libraries preserving 17+ million digitized items. The HathiTrust Digital Library preserves and provides lawful access to some of those digitized items, specifically the 4 million which are in the public domain. The Examination Regulations are currently published annually at the beginning of Michaelmas Term. They are commonly referred to as 'the Grey Book'.

An online version of the Examination Regulations was made available in Michaelmas Term 2006. This is maintained by the Academic Policy Support Section.

Approved changes and additions to the Examination Regulations are published from time to time in the University Gazette. Such changes are valid (if no objection is made to them) within fifteen days of their publication. The online version will aim to incorporate valid changes/additions so that it is up-to-date. As was the case in the first year of operation of the online edition, the authoritative version of the Examination Regulations will for the time being continue to be the printed edition for the academic year 2007-8 plus the further changes published in the University Gazette.

A unit within the the HathiTrust Digital Library that manages access to its content for the specific purposes of text mining. The Hathi Trust is a repository containing over 17.5 million titles digitised by academic and research institutions across North America and Europe. It specialises in literature and U.S. Government document collections. Since the University of Oxford is a member institution, its students and staff may access books and create collections using their own free personal accounts. Creating a collection with the HathiTrust Digital Library is like creating your own text corpus, which can be used for computational text analysis via the research center. Collections may also be made public for other researchers to access.

Kanopy is a video-streaming platform dedicated to thoughtful and thought-provoking films. Founded in 2008, Kanopy was established to provide academic institutions with essential films that foster learning and conversation. In 2016, Kanopy expanded its services to public libraries and now delivers a diverse collection of 30,000+ enriching films, available to stream anytime and anywhere — from desktop to TV to tablet.

BAR Digital contains over 3000 titles from BAR publishing. BAR Publishing offers the largest series of academic archaeology titles in the world, covering all geographic regions and time periods. The collection encompasses all periods from prehistory, through classical archaeology, to 20th century archaeology around the globe. These are presented in data rich monographs, edited collections of paper, excavation and site reports and conference proceedings.

The library of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History has a wealth of 19th to early 20th century entomological literature that is central to the development of entomology as an academic subject.

The UK Data Service provides access to high-quality social and economic data deposited into the UK Data Archive.

Here you will find a single point of access to a wide range of secondary data including large-scale government surveys, international macrodata, NGO databases, business microdata, qualitative studies and census data. Access varies but initial authentication - as an academic researcher - is provided by your single sign on. Actual ability to access data varies between collections, some which may be downloaded or analysed in your browser window (open access), ordered and downloaded after registration (safeguarded access) or supplied following further approval and checks (controlled access). The UK Data Service also operates the ESRC Secure Data Lab as part of offering access to controlled microdata.

Published in 24 volumes in 1999, the American National Biography won instant acclaim as the new authority in American biographies. The publication of the online edition makes the ANB even more useful as a dynamic source of information -- updated quarterly, with hundreds of new entries each year and revisions of previously published entries to enhance their accuracy and currency. The ANB Online features thousands of illustrations, more than 80,000 hyperlinked cross-references, links to select web sites, and powerful search capabilities.

The American National Biography is published by Oxford University Press under the auspices of the American Council of Learned Societies.

The Archives of Sexuality and Gender: Sex and Sexuality, Sixteenth to Twentieth Century looks at gender and sexuality in the centuries leading up to, and inclusive of, the period covered in Archives of Sexuality and Gender Parts I and II, providing context to the materials in those collections. It examines topics such as patterns of fertility and sexual practice; prostitution; religion and sexuality; the medical and legal construction of sexualities; and the rise of sexology. It not only offers a reflection of the cultural and social attitudes of the past, but also a window into how sexuality and gender roles were viewed and changed over time.

Three unique collections make up the archive:

• The Private Case from the British Library, comprised of printed books segregated from the main library from the 1850s to 1990 on grounds of obscenity. It is an interesting study in social mores as the definition of obscenity has seen many changes since the mid-nineteenth-century.
• Special Subject Units from Sex Research: Early Literature from Statistics to Erotica, a collection from the Alfred C. Kinsey Institute for Sex Research dating from 1700 to 1860. This is a portion of Dr. Kinsey's original library which he used to study human sexual behavior from a variety of academic and literary viewpoints.
• A collection of rare and unique books from the New York Academy of Medicine, consisting of more than 1,400 monographs covering a variety of topics in sex, sexuality, and gender studies. From sex education to erotica, manners to medicine, the Academy collection offers a rich combination of materials from the humanities to the hard sciences.

The archive presents content in fourteen different languages, with a predominance in French, English, and German and including Old French, Old English, and Old High German.

The National Social Science Database (NSSD) provides access to open access articles from major journals published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and it’s provincial subsidiaries.

The CASS database includes over 2000 titles of core academic journals in social science (and humanities) published in China, including the entire volumes of journals such as文物 Wen wu)，考古 (Kao gu)，and 历史研究 (Historical Research).

The University of Oxford readers can access the database without having to register for individual accounts.

For almost fifty years, the United States and the Soviet Union were engaged in the Cold War. This global stalemate emerged after both nations had been allies against Hitler during World War II. This collection of oral histories from the "behind-the-scenes" decision and policy makers answers a wide range of popular and academic questions surrounding this long period of political and military tension:

•What scientific and technological developments fuelled the arms race that characterized the Cold War?

•What new institutions were created by the Cold War, and how were existing institutions reshaped by it?

Altmetrics are alternative metrics to traditional metrics like citations. They are an indicator of the online attention received by a research output (eg journal article, conference proceeding, book, dataset), and can be used to support traditional metrics to highlight interest in research that could not be measured in a citation count.

Electronic Enlightenment has as its foundation major printed editions of correspondence centred on the "long 18th century". From the correspondence itself, the supporting critical apparatus and additional research, the project has developed a set of information categories that creates an intricate network of connections between the documents and enriches Electronic Enlightenment as a digital academic resource. Through such interconnecting and contextualizing categories, Electronic Enlightenment is able to offer the user an unrivalled range and depth of approachs to the documents and people included here.

To date, most of the content of Electronic Enlightenment has been provided by printed editions of correspondences from academic presses worldwide; nevertheless, it is not simply an aggregation of these editions. Rather it is a database of individual letters and correspondents that can be searched or browsed as a complete collection. This is one of the great strengths of Electronic Enlightenment.

The content of Electronic Enlightenment is planned to grow by several thousand letters a year: additional content will include both new print editions and correspondence never previously edited. The network of external links to leading resources, from Chambers' Cyclopaedia to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, will continue to expand. The functionality of Electronic Enlightenment will also be enhanced in line with developments in online database technology.
