Browsing the SCA Library

In the SCA Library most South Asian content has the Library of Congress shelfmark DS and can be found in the Main Reading Rooms on the ground floor of 51 Banbury Road. 

Online Resources

eHRAF World Cultures : Produced by the Human Relations Area Files at Yale University, World Cultures is a cross-cultural database that contains information on all aspects of cultural and social life. The annually-growing eHRAF database is unique in that the information is organized into cultures and ethnic groups and the full-text sources are subject-indexed at the paragraph level.

Indiastat : Socio-economic information on India.

ABIA : Index of South and Southeast Asian Art and Archaeology : In-depth bibliography (1928-present) covering South and Southeast Asian art, architecture, archaeology, crafts, inscriptions, palaeography, coins and seals from the region. Includes unique references to literature published in the region, which is often very hard to identify and access.

Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS) :The online version of the Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS), referencing principally western-language articles and book chapters on all parts of Asia published since 1971.
