Purpose of this guide

This guide is intended for students and researchers studying law at the University of Oxford, although students and researchers from any field may find it useful.

Use this guide to find out about reliable sources for legislation (primary and secondary), including databases and official websites.

Using this guide

The guide below is principally designed to help holders of an Oxford Single Sign On username and password (Oxford SSO) discover which databases are best to find the text of an act/statute/statutory instrument or code etc for those jurisdictions most commonly studied at Oxford.

It does, however,  also act as a mediated portal to reliable sites on which national governments, IGOs, the Free Access to Law Movement etc have made legislation freely accessible on the web.

The emphasis is on countries wholly or in part within the common law or Anglo-American legal tradition.

Navigate to the relevant jurisdiction (some divided by period too) or legal system via the pertinent tab in the range above (below the main title of this guide).

Below are links to take you to other Law Bod guides which may help you with your studies in this area.
