Roman law: Journals

Law journals which may include articles on Roman law

Journals with a specific focus on Roman law have shelf marks starting Roman 300 (Issues from 2000 onwards can be found on Floor 1; pre-2000 issues are on Floor 0)

  • Bullettino dell'Istituto di diritto romano
  • Index : Quaderni camerti di studi romanistici
  • IVRA : rivista internazionale di diritto romano e antico
  • Labeo : rassegna di diritto romano
  • Studia et documenta historiae et iuris
  • Subseciva Groningana
  • Zeitschrift der Savigny-Stiftung für Rechtsgeschichte. Romanistische Abtheilung

However there are some law journals with a more general legal historical slant which may yet sometimes have useful articles.

American Journal of legal history

Finally, generalist law journals may also accept articles dealing with legal history - and for Roman law this is especially true of journals published in civil law jurisdictions.
