Please note that on the 6th of September the Bodleian Libraries upgraded the PCAS service with a fleet of new machines and a new online account system which links your PCAS account to your Bodleian Libraries username and password. If you created a PCAS account before 6th of September, you will need to transfer any existing credit you have to the new system. Details on how to transfer credit are given below.

PCAS - Print, Copy and Scan

PCAS is the system for printing, photocopying, and scanning in the Bodleian Libraries. The Radcliffe Science Library has 4 self-service copiers where you can photocopy or scan, and collect print jobs you've sent from a computer. Services include:

How do I pay?

  • You need a PCAS account to do any printing, photocopying or scanning. If you are a new member of the University, your PCAS account will have been created for you automatically.
  • Top-up your account from any PC, using a credit/debit card
  • Credit is held in the secure online system
  • You can view your account balance and past activity.
  • There are no coin- or card-operated copiers in the Bodleian Libraries.
  • Your College or Department will each have a different system.

Setting up and using a PCAS account

PCAS accounts are set up automatically for new members of the University and those receiving a Bodleian Reader's Card for the first time. You access your PCAS account using your Bodleian Libraries username and password. You can find out more about accessing your account here.

To use a PCAS machine, tap your University Card on the card sensor on the machine. If this is the first time you have used your account, you will then be asked to type in your Bodleian Libraries username and password. You will now be able to complete any printing or photocopying. Credit is automatically deducted from your account.
