Data and Statistics for Social Sciences: Getting Started

Thomson One and DataStream subscription to end

The financial services tools Thomson One and DataStream, currently in use at the Social Science and Sainsbury libraries, are being discontinued as a product by their supplier Thomson Reuters. The current subscription will run to July 31st 2017.

A trial of a replacement service EIKON, marketed by Thomson Reuters, is being arranged to run parallel with the last quarter of the existing subscription (May–July 2017). Unlike Thomson One and DataStream, the EIKON service is not being made available as an institutional level product but rather as a service requiring the purchase of individual licenses. The Library is considering the purchase of some EIKON licenses but individual departments may need to consider funding EIKON for their respective audiences should they wish to have departmental access to the new service.

Further information may be obtained by contacting Chris Flegg (the Business School Librarian), or John Southall (Economics subject consultant and Data Librarian).
