The Oxford University Research Archive (ORA) serves as an institutional repository for the University of Oxford and is home to the scholarly research output of its members. ORA also is the home of Oxford digital theses.

The full text and abstracts of many of these items are freely available.

Where do I find theses?

To find an Oxford thesis, search:

SOLO for print and electronic theses. You can add "thesis University of Oxford" to the title or subject keywords in the search box, or select "Theses" from the limits.

ORA (Oxford University Research Archive) for electronic theses. Help on using ORA.

For other British theses, search:

ProQuest Dissertations and Theses — UK & Ireland for theses from British and Irish universities as far back as 1716. 

EThOS - Electronic Theses Online Service from the British Library.

Both services provide abstracts for most theses and some full-text downloads.

For theses from any other universities, search:

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global, where you can see a preview before purchasing the full text.

DART-Europe E-theses Portal - gives access to open access research theses from 564 Universities in 28 European countries.
