Subject Librarians

The Biology Subject Librarian can help with -

  • Enquiries about Biology collections at the RSL including our extensive forestry collection
  • Training and support for using library e-resources such as bibliographic databases
  • Queries regarding Open Access policies
  • Using a variety of reference management packages

Information Skills Training

The Bodleian Libraries offer a range of training sessions focusing on different library services and resources. Topics covered include -

  • Searching bibliographic databases and catalogues
  • Measuring research impact and tracking citations
  • Using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software
  • Making the most of reference management software

IT Skills Training

The University of Oxford IT Services provide an extensive range of training courses. These include sessions on -

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office products
  • Using statistics packages
  • Programming and operating systems
  • Working with digital sound, images and multimedia

Many courses are available free of charge or include a small administration fee. Courses can be booked and managed on-line. IT services have a complete Course Catalogue.
