Main library collections for Education at Oxford

Oxford's collections in education are extremely strong and are largely provided by the Bodleian Education Library and the central Bodleian Library.

The Bodleian Education Library is based within the Department of Education and is the primary location for education resources in Oxford. It specialises in material in the areas relevant to the Department’s teaching and research, housing a large print collection of books, journals and theses and providing access to a wide range of electronic resources, many of them full-text. Staff at the Education Bodleian Library are able to help with any enquiries, and the librarian, Kate Williams (kate.williams@bodleian.ox.ac.uk) is very happy to book an appointment with you, to help you with your research.

The Bodleian Library is a copyright deposit library, with a right to receive everything published in the UK. This makes Oxford’s collection of UK education material nearly comprehensive, with material published outside the UK purchased to fit the teaching and research needs of the University. Most material from the Bodleian Library’s book stacks can be ordered online to be read in the Education Library.
